My Experience as a Swimmer - Why I Started This Project
From injury → To learning → To better habits
I’ve spent hundreds of hours in the pool chasing faster times. Along the way, I learned that progress in swimming isn’t just about grinding through training; it’s also about recognizing warning signs early.
I’ve dealt with a breaststroke adductor (groin) injury that made kicking impossible, as well as a rotator cuff issue in freestyle that prevented me from lifting my arm and forced me to scratch a meet. These experiences changed how I think about training, recovery, and long-term health.
This site is a personal notebook of what I wish I had known sooner, and what I now share with teammates to help them stay healthy in the water.
This site began as a personal project to reflect on my own experiences with injury and recovery in swimming. Over time, it grew into a way to organize what I’ve learned and share information that could be helpful to other swimmers facing similar challenges.
My goal is not to provide medical advice, but to increase awareness around common swimming-related injuries and encourage athletes to prioritize technique, recovery, and long-term health alongside performance.
